Click It Up A Notch

Wordless Wednesday: Happy Halloween!

This past weekend, I took my kids down to my parents house so that they could see them in their Halloween costumes.  They each got a small bag of goodies and lots of love from Grammie and Grampie!  I am looking forward to taking them trick-or-treating for the first time and I am hoping to get lots of good pictures to share here later!

I hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween!

Sunday Snapshot: Little Hiker

My friend and I took our kids to Bar Harbor on Friday for one last big outing before it gets too cold to spend the day outside.  We started the day with a walk around the top of Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park.  The kids loved being able to walk around and especially enjoyed seeing the big cruise ship in the harbor.  We had a great day and enjoyed all the fresh air!

Photography Scavenger Hunt

Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Faceless Portrait - This is how you would find me most nights, a laptop in my lap, my iPad next to me and a notebook thrown in there somewhere.

View from the Top - I was so excited that Lily had so much hair when she was born because Levi was pretty much bald for the first 15 months of his life.  I love being able to put her hair in pigtails or just throw a hair clip in it.  This cup of hair accessories lives on our mantle for the time being.

Cozy - My kids all bundled up and cozy before we headed out for a chilly morning walk.

Stacked - I think that this word could be used for a lot of things around my house right now.  We have stuffed stacked up everywhere because we just don't have enough space.  This is my "stack" where you will find my sons crayons and notepad, a CD of family pictures, a few magazines and catalogs as well as some coupons.

The list for next week is:
-Pattern(s)
-Machine
-Signs or logos
-Rocks or stones
-Sparkle

I am really looking forward to this hunt!  I have plans for later this week that will bring me to a place that I will be able to capture a few of these very easily (I hope)!

Sunday Snapshot: Getting in the picture

Last week my husband and I decided that we needed to get Levi's haircut again.  So I called and made an appointment and the morning that we were going to go I gave Levi a bath while his sister was napping.  After his bath, I got him dressed and combed his hair and he just looked so cute and was giving me some really good smiles so I grabbed my camera and started shooting.

I got a few good pictures of him but then he started to get fussy.  I'm not sure why but I remembered this post I read and wrote about last week about how mom's need to get into pictures with their kids.  I asked Levi if he wanted to have his picture taken with me and he got excited and said yes.

So I plopped down on the couch next to him and turned the camera on the both of us and shot this picture.  It was the first one I took and it was by far the best one.  It is definitely not easy to do a self portrait at arms length with a DSLR but I am so happy that I tried!  This is a photo that I will cherish for years to come!

-Please follow myself and Create Something out of Nothing via either GFC or RSS

-Share the love and comment on at least 2 other links.
-When linking up, please make sure to link to your actual blog post not your home page.  This will make it easier for everyone to find your photos!

Water drops- Water drops in my kitchen sink.

Faithfulness - Nothing says to me faithfulness quite like a dog!

Then and Now / Fall Bucket List - I decided to combine 2 of the scavenger hunt items and did reading a book with Daddy then and now.  Then Levi was 6 months old and would sit still for the whole book and now Levi is 2 and Lily is 8 months and Levi won't even start the book sitting!

Fingertips - This is a self portrait of my hand holding an apple we found with what we called a belly button.

The list for next week is:
-Orange or PINK in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month
-Faceless portrait (aim for a selfie)
-View from the top
-Cozy
-Stacked
