A Day in My Life in Photos

Today, I decided to document my day with photos.  I have seen it done before and I like the idea that one day my kids can look back and see what a day was like for us when they were little.

Our day started out with the kids both waking up around 7 and after a couple of diaper changes we all had some breakfast, pancakes for Levi and milk for Lily.

After breakfast, we all had to get ready to go to Lily's 9 month appointment with her pediatrician.  We piled in to the car and we were off.

Lily was all smiles for the doctor until it came time for her flu shot.  People who say that shots don't hurt, have never taken a baby to get shots...

Lily fell asleep on the way home and I managed to get her into the house and into her bedroom without waking her up and she ended up sleeping for over an hour.  Levi and I had some lunch while she slept.  He had Spaghettio's and ended up wearing almost as much as he ate.  He also decided that his bowl looked like a good hat so he got a quick shampoo in the sink before he went down for a nap.

After naps, I had a couple of happy kids again!  One of Levi's favorite things to do is to help take the trash out so while I put a new bag in the can, Levi headed for the door with the full bag in tow.

I can't believe that it is so warm in the middle of November, especially since we had a couple of inches of snow last week.  After naps and chores, we headed outside to enjoy this unusually warm day!

Levi knows that his Daddy's snowmobile is stored in the trailer out back and wanted to go see it so we all climbed in and he had a blast.  Lily, on the other hand, did not!  She is already scared of her brother's driving!

We took a short walk around the back of our property and checked out the horses next door.

This was Lily's first time crawling around outside and she loved it.  Levi kept finding sticks on the ground and he would take them to the nearest tree and tried to put them back.

Since my husband doesn't usually get home from work until just before the kids go to bed, I am usually left to make dinner before he gets home so that we can all eat as soon as he's home.  Most nights this means that I cook while trying to wrangle 2 tired, hungry kids who are usually whining and crying.  Tonight was an exception, Lily fell asleep in her highchair shortly after I put her there and in hopes of keeping Levi quiet so that she would stay that way, I put Disney Junior on TV and he snuggled right in and watched.  I was able to cook dinner in peace and Daddy came home to a quiet house and a relaxed Mommy!

Both kids were very excited when Daddy got home from work and everyone was full of smiles!

Levi is becoming very independent when it comes to getting dressed and usually insists on putting his pants on himself.

The last thing we do every night is read.  Mommy and Daddy take turns reading to the kids and it is one of my favorite times of the day.  After books, Daddy snuggles with Levi and Mommy nurses Lily then it's into bed for both of them and its relaxing time for Mommy and Daddy!

My day ends way later than anyone else in my house (mostly because my husbands day starts way before the kids and I get up) and it is when I get some me time and a chance to work on my blog, my Etsy shop and to catch up on my shows on the DVR!  Tonight it's a little blogging and Dancing with the Stars...go Shawn and Derek!!

If you have stuck with me for this whole post, thank you!  I had a great day and I hope everyone else did as well!

Awe your kids are so cute. I always hated the day I had to take them to get shots - so hard for us moms! Happy SITS Day!

I always find it really interesting to see how other people's daily lives are. My boyfriend works a bit late too, so a lot of times I have a cranky baby walking around while I'm cooking too. Glad this one night was a little more peaceful.

I'll bet it would be fun to do this same date again this year and see how it compares. I should try this some day with my three.

Looks like a fun life! I agree that shots are painful... especially if you are a baby and they are jamming the needle into your leg! :(

Happy SITS DAY (late). I so remember this stage of life and honestly I don't miss it. I was never good at being grateful for the opportunity to do all those little things for my kids. But I sound grumpy and really I love raising girls, I am just more of an early elementary mom than a toddler mom. If you have time, check out my blog on raising girls--or save it for the future when your little one is bit older and more puzzling!
