Sunday Snapshot: Sleepy Boy

After a long weekend of playing hard in the snow at camp, our little boy crashed.  He slept for 2 hours in his crib and then when his sister woke him up, he curled up on the couch and slept for another hour and a half.  An hour later, after dinner and a bath, he went back in his crib for bedtime without a peep.  I hope he always looks this angelic when he sleeps!

Friday Favorites: A recap of our week and a freebie!

Here is a little peek into our week...

After our weekly walk with a friend and her son, the kids and I had a nice visit with my aunt and her 2 girls (my cousins).  We met them for lunch at Chili's and the girls had fun entertaining Levi.

On our way home from lunch, Lily was so tired that she passed out!  She got her first tooth and the second one is not far behind.  This has made my normally happy little girl into a tired and cranky little girl.  Hopefully this second tooth pops through soon!

After a long morning of misbehaving, cranky kids and a very messy lunch, a tubby was in order!  There is nothing like splashing water to bring out the silliness in my kids.  It put much needed smiles on all of our faces!

After the tubby washed away the crankiness, I was able to put the kids down for a nap.  While the kids napped, I took a few minutes for me and painted my toenails.  *Mommy confession...I hadn't painted my toenails since SEPTEMBER, yikes!  So much better now :)

It has been a trying few weeks, so I have been trying to see the good in everyday.  This quote just spoke to me.  I am going to enjoy my days instead of trying to just endure them!  Enjoying is SO much more fun!  I made this iPhone wallpaper for myself and am sharing it with you!  Just right click, save and send it to your phone or if you are reading this on your phone, you should just be able to save it directly from there!

Have a great weekend!

GrooveBook: Smartphone Photos in Your Hand

I am relatively new to the smartphone world but that has not stopped me from taking a TON of photos with it in a short amount of time...

The only problem with that is that they tend to get stuck there, in my phone.  That is where GrooveBook comes in.  GrooveBook is a free app for your iPhone (a version for Android phones is in the works).  The books themselves are free and you just pay $2.99 for shipping.  Every month you upload 100 photos through the app and in about a week, you will have a book in your hand full of all your photos!  The pages in the book are perforated so you can use them as you please.  How fun would it be to send a few photos every month to the grandparents (or anyone who might live far away) with a little note from the kids!

There possibilities are only limited by your imagination:
-You could let your kids snap some photos one month and for about $3 they will have a book of photos that they took.
-Go to a local zoo or aquarium and take photos of both the animals and the plaques identifying them.  What a great educational book all about animals.
-Set up a photo booth at a party using your phone and use those photos for your book that month and you will have a fun memento from your party.

You can use Instagram photos but they will have white edges on either side like you see above.
The app is very easy to use and it will even remind you to get your photos uploaded so that you never miss a month!

Best of all, you get your first book completely FREE!!  Just use the code 2REDBIRTHSTONES1 and your shipping costs will be covered!

What are you waiting for, get your photos off your phone and in your hand!!

I received a book free of charge for this post, but as always, all opinions are my own.

Friday Favorites: Etsy Finds

I have been doing some window shopping on Etsy this week and decided to share some of my favorite finds.

I am loving the idea of using mason jars for glasses and I love that the jars from Opal & Ollie have etched designs on them.  I particularly love the etched camera on this jar.  These jars also come with a Cuppow cover which basically transforms the mason jar into a travel mug!  I also really like these mason jars with a straw lid from The Mason Bar Company, and this mason jar cozie from Maine Girl Creations is absolutely adorable.

Along the same lines, I love this ceramic travel mug from sewZinski.  The colors are so bright and fun!  I love that it doesn't have a handle, which means it would fit in the cup holder on my BOB stroller!

This Toy Story toddler backpack from Marine Parents is something that my toddler would not want to part with!  It may just have to go on his birthday list.  They also have this really cute little girl purse that would be perfect for Easter.  I have actually ordered a few things from April at Marine Parents before and her work is beautiful and I love my custom iPad case and small zipper pouch.

This cardigan and bow tie set from Haddon & Co. for baby boys is so cute, there aren't even words!  I wish I had found these when my little boy was small enough to wear it!

Last but not least is the fabric choices at Sweet Bobbins Fabric shop.  They have so many cute fabrics, like this fabric for a little girl that is girly with out being overly pink or purple!  I love the blue background with the small castle outlines behind the trees!  I just wish I had somewhere to sew so that I could make something out of it for my baby girl.

Have you done any Etsy window shopping lately?  Its fun to browse all the handmade creations and dream about what I could make with all the unique crafting supplies!

*You can find all these items (plus a couple others that have been featured in the past) in the this treasury list that I made on Etsy.

Sunday Snapshot: Our Snowy Weekend

We had a crazy snowy weekend thanks to Blizzard Nemo but that allowed us to spend a lot of time together as a family.  Here is a little look inside our weekend...

Some of the best weekends, are lazy weekends spent lounging around the house as a family.
